Madison is all about fun, inclusivity, and creativity—and what better way to celebrate that than with a Drag Night at the ballpark? The Madison Mallards and Forward Madison have already earned a reputation for their awesome special events, and adding a drag night to the lineup would be a huge win! Picture this: fabulous queens in the dugout, dazzling performances between innings, and fans showing up in their finest drag to cheer on their favorite team.

Other sports teams are embracing inclusivity in big ways. Take, for example, the Keighley Cougars, a rugby league team in the UK featured in a recent New York Times article, Can Pro Sports and Drag Queens Coexist? A Mill Town Finds Out. Since being taken over by gay owners, the team has hosted drag queens, and it’s brought their community together in ways they never imagined. Inclusivity has become their hallmark, and it’s helped create a welcoming, vibrant environment where everyone feels like they belong. After all, love is love, and sports can be a place where we celebrate that together!
Madison could see the same success. A drag night at the ballpark would be a fun, memorable event for fans of all ages, promoting unity and pride while showing that Madison knows how to throw the best parties! From lip-sync battles to runway walks on the field, this would bring together our love for sports and fabulous entertainment.
And of course, props to Vern Stenman, Conor Caloia, and their incredible management and operations team for always bringing fresh, fun ideas to the field at Mallards and Forward Madison games. Let’s make Drag Night the next big win! Play ball—and slay! If you enjoy this content, please like and share.
